Sample Boards
Why choose a microcement sample board?
Shade Verification
Actual colour instead of a photograph. A sample board shows the true shade of microcement without distortion from a monitor, phone or product photo.
Texture Check
A genuinely applied surface. The board shows the real pattern, fine texture and character of a hand-applied microcement screed.
More Confident Decision
Before purchasing a larger set. The sample board helps verify if the shade and appearance suit the bathroom, shower, kitchen, floor or wall.
Sample Boards with Applied Microcement
Microcement Sample Boards are used to verify the true shade, texture and final surface appearance before buying a complete set or larger quantity of material. It is not a printed colour chart or digital preview — the microcement screed is genuinely applied on the board.
This lets you assess how microcement looks in a specific space, under particular lighting and next to surrounding materials. This is far more reliable for shade selection than deciding from a photo.
What is the purpose of a sample board?
Choosing the correct shade
The colour of microcement may appear different on screen than in reality. A sample board lets you compare the shade directly in the room where the microcement will be used — for example, in a bathroom, shower cubicle, kitchen or on the floor.
Surface texture verification
Microcement is hand-applied. The resulting pattern, subtle mapping and texture are not perfectly uniform like printed decor. A sample board better reveals the surface’s real character than any image.
Comparison with the interior
You can place the sample next to tiles, flooring, worktops, furniture, doors, sanitaryware, taps or wood samples. This quickly helps determine if the shade matches the overall interior design.
Check before a large order
A sample board reduces the risk of misselecting a colour. Before ordering a complete set for many m², it’s wise to verify if the chosen shade meets expectations.
Why isn’t choosing by photo enough?
Microcement photos can be misleading. The final shade is affected by lighting during photography, monitor settings, phone display, photo editing and surrounding materials. The same shade can look different in daylight, warm LED light or shade.
With microcement you’re not just picking a colour. Texture, surface depth, fine pattern and how the material reacts to light are also important. This is best evaluated on a physical sample.
How to properly evaluate a sample board?
We recommend viewing the sample board in the actual installation location. Place it against walls, floors, kitchen worktops, tiles or furniture and compare it under different lighting conditions.
Ideally, observe the sample in the morning, during the day and in the evening under artificial lighting. In bathrooms or kitchens the shade can appear differently depending on lighting type, sanitaryware, taps, wood, tiles or surrounding walls.
Sample board vs 1 kg sample
Sample board is the best choice if you mainly want to select the shade and verify the finished surface look. It is quick, practical and you can immediately compare it with the interior.
1 kg sample makes more sense when you want to apply microcement yourself, try working with a trowel and test your application technique. However, for selecting the colour, a sample board is usually more convenient and accurate.
Will the final installation exactly match the sample board?
The sample board shows the real shade and character of microcement, but the final install may not be exactly identical. Microcement is hand applied, so final patterns depend on the application technique, area size, layer thickness, sanding and lighting conditions.
On a larger surface, the shade may appear more intense or lighter than on a small board. Therefore, consider the sample as a very precise guide for colour and texture selection, not a mass-produced identical decor.

Frequently asked questions about microcement sample boards
What is the purpose of a microcement sample board?
A sample board is used to verify the true shade, texture and appearance of microcement before ordering larger quantities or a complete set.
Is there real microcement on the sample board?
Yes, the sample board is prepared with genuinely applied microcement screed. This shows the real surface appearance better than photos or digital charts.
Why isn’t choosing a shade by photo enough?
Photos and screens can significantly distort colour. The actual microcement shade is also affected by daylight, artificial lighting, surrounding materials and surface size.
How should I compare the sample board at home?
Place it by flooring, tiles, furniture, sanitaryware, kitchen worktops or other materials. Ideally, view it in both daylight and evening lighting.
Is a sample board suitable for choosing a bathroom shade?
Yes, a physical sample is very important for bathrooms or shower cubicles. The shade here is strongly influenced by artificial lighting, sanitaryware, taps, tiles and room size.
Will the finished installation look exactly like the sample board?
Not exactly. Microcement is hand applied and the final pattern and subtle texture differences can vary due to application technique, surface area and room conditions.
How many sample boards should I order?
If you are unsure between several shades, order a few similar colours. Shade differences are often more evident in the real interior than on a screen.
Is a sample board better or a 1 kg sample?
For colour selection, the sample board is more practical. The 1 kg sample is better if you want to apply microcement yourself and try working with the material.
