Aqua Base · primer microcement · ready-to-use · interior and exterior
Mineral primer microcement screed ready for direct use. It unifies the substrate and creates a strong, adherent, and waterproof base for subsequent decorative layers of the CimentArt system.
Firm foundation of the microcement system
Aqua Base is a mineral thin-layer screed ready for direct use. The combination of fine minerals, aggregate, polymers, resins, and waterproof additives creates a cohesive substrate for the subsequent decorative microcement layer.
Suitable for floors, walls, bathrooms, showers, and other surfaces exposed to increased moisture.
The one-component system requires no additional resin. Simply open, mix thoroughly, and apply.
Unifies the substrate and prepares it for final layers of Aqua Nature, Aqua Quartz, or Aqua Microconcrete.
Universal primer screed
Aqua Base is used on stable and properly prepared substrates as a primer layer before applying the final microcement finish. It is applied manually with a steel trowel on horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Product position in the system
Aqua Base is applied after suitable priming and forms the substrate for the subsequent decorative microcement layer. It does not create a finished top surface on its own.
Depending on the desired finish, continue with Aqua Nature, Aqua Quartz or Aqua Microconcrete and the appropriate protective system.
Basic working procedure
Precise substrate preparation and uniform application of the primer layer are critical for the appearance and durability of the entire microcement system.
The substrate must be firm, clean, stable, dry, and free of dust, grease, loose layers, and active cracks.
Apply a suitable Primer Plus to the prepared substrate according to its absorbency and construction type.
Mix the ready paste thoroughly before use. If necessary, add up to 5% clean water.
Apply Aqua Base using pressure with a steel trowel. One layer must not exceed 1 mm thickness.
Once dry, sand the layer with 40–60 grit abrasive and thoroughly vacuum all dust before applying the next layer.
Preparing various surfaces
Specific preparation, priming and reinforcement always depend on substrate type, condition, and expected load.
Critical points of application
Do not apply on wet, damp, dirty or unstable substrates. Structural movement, active cracks, and substrate defects may transfer through the microcement layers.
Apply individual layers up to 1 mm thickness, observe drying times and always remove dust thoroughly after sanding. Do not work below +5 °C or above +35 °C.
When applying outdoors, protect fresh material from rain, frost, direct sunlight and adverse weather conditions. Aqua Base is a waterproof system layer but does not replace building waterproofing by itself.
Ready-to-use technology
Aqua Base is supplied as a finished paste. No mixing of cement with separate resin or monitoring of component ratios is required. This results in faster preparation and more consistent material quality.
Simply open, mix thoroughly and apply with a steel trowel.
Factory-prepared mix reduces variability between batches and minimises risk of incorrect component ratios.
No handling of dry cement powder and less dust is produced during sanding.

Frequently asked questions
No. Aqua Base is a primer microcement layer. It is followed by a final decorative screed like Aqua Nature, Aqua Quartz or Aqua Microconcrete and the corresponding protective system.
No. The product is supplied as a one-component paste ready for use. Just mix thoroughly before application.
If necessary, the consistency may be adjusted by adding up to 5% clean water. Always mix thoroughly afterwards.
Approximate consumption is about 1 kg/m² per layer. Actual consumption depends on substrate evenness, texture and absorbency.
One layer of Aqua Base should not exceed 1 mm thickness. Larger unevenness must be suitably levelled before system application.
Indicative drying time is 4–6 hours. Actual time depends on temperature, humidity, layer thickness and substrate absorbency.
Yes, it is used as a waterproof primer layer in the microcement system. In wet zones it does not replace correct structural waterproofing of the substrate.
Yes, if the tiles are firm, stable and do not hollow. The surface must be degreased, roughened and all joints and unevenness properly levelled.
Yes, on stable and properly prepared external substrates. Fresh layers must be protected from rain, frost, direct sunlight and other adverse effects.
Yes, the product can be tinted with suitable universal pigments. The primer shade does not replace the final decorative system layer colour.
