Can I use mesh tape on the edge of a stair?

Mesh tape on the very edge of a stair is not an ideal solution. The edge requires mechanical support and a precise shape, not just a textile reinforcement. If the stair is uneven or chipped, it is better to work with a profile and then level the surface. I would not recommend mesh tape for stair edges, as it has no practical benefit here. It neither levels nor reinforces the edge.
