Yes, concrete is a suitable substrate if it is matured, strong, dry and clean.

Detailed answer

Concrete is one of the best substrates, but it must be matured, strong and free of separating layers. Dust, cement laitance, adhesive residues or local level differences need to be removed by grinding and vacuuming. It is therefore not only about the material of the substrate, but especially about its condition. Before application, check hardness, flatness, grease, dust, cracks and any movement. If the surface is risky, it is better to reinforce it or first create a test area. And it must be flat and smooth (ground down).

Common mistakes

  • application on dusty or loose substrates
  • skipping checks for hollow spots and cracks
  • insufficient degreasing and priming
