How to Prepare an OSB Floor?

The OSB must be securely screwed down, free of sagging, with secured joints and a reinforcement layer.

Detailed answer

Prepare the OSB floor thoroughly. The boards must be firmly screwed down, must not sag, and the joints need to be secured so they do not move against each other. For flooring, a double layer of OSB laid crosswise and a subsequent reinforcement layer is preferable, otherwise the risk of cracking is unnecessarily high. We recommend a double layer (2 layers of OSB laid crosswise).

  • covering active cracks without repair
  • unreinforced or poorly protected edges
  • loading too soon after application
